Hows That List Going?

Whilst writing the previous post I came across my list of stuff to do for my holiday to Norway. So lets see how I’m doing so far:

  • Plan route (I’m leaving this one to dad)
  • Buy Guernsey->UK tickets
  • Buy UK->Norway tickets
  • Buy new motorcycle helmet
  • Buy intercom unit
  • Buy bike luggage
  • Service bike
  • Install intercom unit & bike alarm
  • Locate possible over-night stops (again I’m leaving this one to dad)
  • Acquire tent for emergencies
  • Purchase riding clothing (trousers & new gloves)
  • Find & buy cigarette lighter for motorbike (to charge phone & iPod)
  • Buy iPod (either Mini or Shuffle)

Looks like I’m not doing too bad… there have been a few other things I’ve had to do but I don’t have the time to add those to the list at the moment.

Aidy has been riding motorbikes since just after he left university in 2003. His first bike was a 1988 Suzuki GSX-R750 bought for £1000. His second bike was a Suzuki GSF600 Bandit, bought for his adventure to Norway in 2005. Two years later he sold the Bandit to Shane (for him to learn on) and upgrade to a BMW R1200GS... which was promptly trashed one month later by a SMIDSY. Having had the R1200GS repaired, Aidy has spent the next three year giving it a damn good thrashing off-road. 2011 will see the R1200GS take to the remote tracks and desert pistes of Morocco... will it struggle to keep up with the 650 enduro bikes that make up the rest of the group, or will it eat them for breakfast?
