The Project

Recently acquired is a BMW F650 ST, Named project Phoenix due to the extensive fire damage the rear third of the bike has suffered. So it was felt this was a fitting name.

The rear third as most will know houses a great deal of electrical items on most bikes!

So the first stage task list is rather larger then normal!

  • Recover BMW F650 ST
  • Identify the level of damage
  • Strip out damaged items
  • Put a wish list of parts together
  • Identify Parts Priority order (to get it running)

After removing the remains of the burnt panels, I found that actually It was rather lucky and should be repairable with out to much expense. As the project develops we will try our best to document each stage. but the priority is to achieve putting the life back into it. So to achieve this  I have listed the priority parts below.

  • Main wiring loom (New)
  • Voltage Regulator (New)
  • Starter Solenoid (New)
  • Battery (New)
