Hein Gericke Rain Cover

A few weeks ago I took delivery of a new Hein Gericke “Rain” Cover. I was struggling to find something that would go over the R1200GSA because of the high screen. I ordered the XL size and to my amazement fits the bike perfectly with all the luggage installed.

It is made from thick material that is like a dinghy on the outside but soft on the inside. The breathable panels let any trapped dew/moisture out and it feels like it will last years. Compared to the previous, Oxford, cover I had for the Suzuki, it is even easier to handle as it doesn’t have elastic all around the base. It will take some autumnal winds to find out if it is as secure though!

After a month, it is on my Highly Recommended list. I’ll report back if this should change.

Shane Marriott

Shane has a hunger for adventure that neither his wallet, free time nor other-half will support. Ever the optimist, after riding a Suzuki Bandit 600 for a few years and completing a Level 1 Advanced course at the "World of BMW" school in Wales he has put his money where is mouth is and invested in a brand new, fully spec'd BMW R1200GS Adventure ("30 Years GS" version). It is planned that this awesome machine will take him round Iceland, help him win the HUMM event and get safely to the beer festival in Germany! So; is Shane ready for the Adventure? I think we need to ask if the Adventure is ready for him?

  1. Having just bought a new BMW R1200GS Adventure, I was thinking that I should get a cover for it as I keep the bike outside.

Having read this I think I might be getting a Hein Gericke cover!
